Chess on the Max Euwe plein

Last week I went out to take some photos, but I hadn’t gotten around to posting them all. Here’s one more from that day that I rather liked. The players always get a lot of ‘helpful advice’ from bystanders, who are probably just waiting in line for their turn. I suppose it takes a while, since there’s only one board. This was a particularly tense moment where the player in question seemed to be on the verge of losing the game. When he finally made a move, a loud argument ensued between the audience and the player about what he should have done instead.
