So I finally got myself some new shoes. After getting my old Vans back in the US almost exactly a year ago and wearing them nearly every day they’ve worn to the point that I was in dire need of something new. The old ones (Rowley XLT’s) never totally made me happy though. You can’t argue with a $50 price tag, but I had hoped they were more like the really old Rowley classics that I once had. It looks like no one sells those anymore these days.

I’m still sticking with Vans (they make my feet happy), but this time I spent double the amount in euros to get the Greco 2, which are a lot like the lighter old-school shoes I like. I suppose it’s worth it though, considering they always have to special order my size. This is the biggest one they make (size 13 US). I used to wear Adidas and I had a smaller size with those, but Adidas stopped making good shoes a few years ago. Hence the switch to Vans. Shoes are the only thing I’m really a brand-whore with, I guess because I wear them a lot and I wear them down until they’re finished.
