We saw this dog in the Museumplein pond biting at the water. Well, either that or making some insane effort to off himself by drowning, as he kept snarfing up a bunch of water. Eventually his owner came over and tried to calm the dog down enough so that she could reach into the water without getting splashed by his trashing around. She retrieved a beaten-up sunken can and threw it out of the water. The dog, who had been standing transfixed watching her, immediately jumped out past her (still splashing her a bit) and ran away with the can in his mouth, darting happily all around the grass. The girl walked off after her dog, shaking her head and mumbling to herself (and maybe a bit to me, too): “crazy dog…”
