The Rijksmuseum underpass has a bit of history to it. I don’t know long the underpass has been there, but I assume it has been there as long as the building itself, which is over 200 years. A few years ago a fairly busy road went under it, but with the redesign it was closed down to cars so that only bikes and pedestrians could pass. Now the whole museum is being “renovated” and the underpass will be dug out and modernized. The arches will remain, but it will never be the same. I had to get a last view through the scaffolding and gates.
