Mmm, noodles… July 20, 2004
For a few days last week M. was eating nothing but noodles because it was the only thing she could eat safely after getting her last wisdom teeth pulled. It reminded me of this photo I took of the noodle place off the Leidseplein. I don’t even know what it’s called but their windows make it pretty clear what you can eat there. [Some comments have revealed that 1) it's called Wagamama, 2) there's a whole chain, and 3) I need to brush up on my noodle-place knowledge as I've been found severaly lacking.] I must’ve taken this photo when they were closed cause it looks pretty dead in there.
I’m not sure what was up with the wall theme that was going on here the last few days. It was unintentional, I only just noticed it today.

It’s Wagamama…
Yeah… so I was told shortly _after_ posting this by M. She also said “they’re supposed to be pretty hip and stuff but they’re actually pretty lame.” Apparently everyone knows this but me… :)
i passed wagamama today on my way to meet a friend, and ALMOST got my camera out. i also saw some guy with a camera at the giant chessboard, and realised that you and i might bump into each other - a’dam being TINY - capturing the same moments someday. funny, that.
everyone loves wagamama. at least in the civilized world. no doubt it’s been dutchified here and made over-priced or something.
Thanks a lot, Steven. You just managed to make me feel worse about my lacking-of-useless-knowledge. Right after I saw this comment I said to M. “apparently there’s a whole chain of those Wagamama things or something?” She didn’t miss a beat and immediately replied that yeah, there’s one in London, too.
Like I said, everyone knows this but me. Very odd.
Lynn: you’ll probably bump into me at some point. Since I don’t know what you look like you’re just going to have to stop me and let me know that I should know you. I have enough people stalking me online already (people I know reading this website without telling me) and it wouldn’t be good to extend that stalking to Amsterdam… :)
