I suspect that for this week’s Photo Friday assignment a lot of people are going to get out their older photos. That’s what I’m doing, anyway. In 2002 we went to the Barcelona area for a vacation. This is one of the photos I took with my then-new tiny Rollei camera. It served me well during the time I used it, and this photo really helped get me interested in photography.

When I brought my vacation photos in to be developed the local photo shop printed almost all of them as I had requested. Today’s photo was near the end of the roll. Starting at this photo, all of them had a white border. They apologised for the error, but I’ve always assumed that someone in the lab liked the photo and was playing with something to make it look nicer. That’s why I’ve recreated the white border as it was when I got the print.
