Ze goggles, zhey do nothing!

The company I work for has changed a lot in recent years. We started out really cool: a US company from the dotcom era but with the advantages of Dutch labour law. Then the bubble burst and we were bought out by a large company that could not possibly be more Dutch. In the end it didn’t turn out that bad. We still have a lot of the same people and we seem to have survived a lot better than some other companies I’ve seen go through the same process. The big company though… man. They’re nuts. I get a small newsletter every week with incredible biased “news” and “fun facts” from the company.

Today’s photo is their latest brilliant idea. Goggles. For DIY, or something. To promote safety at work and at home they sent this to every employee. Yeah… OK. Like the reflective vest they sent last year that you could wear while changing a blown tire or something. If you want to spend a penny of company money on something useful you have to jump through a million hoops, but they spend loads of money on crud like this.

I’ll never understand this company. Maybe that’s a good thing.
