Cruising at 10k November 14, 2005
The quality isn’t great, but it’s the best I could manage at full zoom through an airplane window. “Full zoom” in this case translates to 70mm, so even though I cropped this image a bit, it’s still quite close. We were just kinda hanging out at over 800 km/h for a while, until our plane slowly moved away to the left and I lost sight of the big bird. It was cool to watch the contrails coming straight from the four 747 engines like that.

You just need to be more picky about what you sleep through. Had you slept through the people being noisy in the hotel in the middle of the night (like I did) you wouldn’t have had to sleep on the plane. :)
