Petra Haden of the Decemberists November 23, 2005
The wonderful Ms. Petra Haden. We went to see the Decemberists in Cologne and of course I took my camera and created a gallery. It was touch and go for a while there - security wouldn’t let me take my camera in for some reason. After a long discussion I gave up and went in without a camera, but then talked to the t-shirt selling guy. He was nice enough to help me out in convincing security I was allowed to take photos. Thanks, t-shirt guy!
[...] I recently read a rant (Dutch) against gig photography, saying the photos are all the same and it’s annoying to other concert-goers. I have some rules for myself that I think save me pretty well from being annoying to others (and M. will poke me if I don’t notice), but I have to admit there are very few chances to take a unique photo. In the end, with photos like this one, the one I’m posting tomorrow and photos like the ones that are now used on Petra Haden’s site (check the bio page for my favourite photo, also posted here) I think it’s worth the effort.
