This was taken well after midnight, with only moonlight and some far away lanterns reflected in the surrounding snow as a light source. The duck moved when he heard the initial click of the shutter. Up until then I had been fairly stealthy. Then again, these big ducks that only moved in recently aren’t that bothered when you get close to them. I’m not sure whether they’re really tough or just stupid.
