Flipping the bird January 23, 2006

I was just messing around with the Lensbaby when I realized that this is probably not a great lens for people photography… It doesn’t look like you’re being very nice to the people you’re taking a photo of. (For those not in the know, this is the generally accepted middle finger gesture in the UK, said to originate from the French chopping off the fingers of prisoners of war. This was the British way of taunting the enemy. Well, that’s what I heard, anyway.)
I did take some better “artistic” photos, or whatever. They will follow in the upcoming days.

Yes, the French did cut off 2 fingers of prisoners, as, at the time, the English were the best ‘bow men’ around, with their longbows, killing many of the French from a long distance, so the French wanted to make sure the men couldnt pull a bow string again.
Alan.
Ah, cool, thanks for the explanation! I couldn’t remember the details exactly.
Wow, I really like this one. It has so many single details, you can’t really tell everything the picture is showing. Like a collage or something. Makes you look at it for ages.
Though, I was sceptical about the lens baby at first.
don’t get too attached to these explanations.
