I shoot a lot of local "hardcore" and "metal" concerts and use my Nikon SB-400 religiously, mind you I'm currently using a Nikon D40 w/ an 18-55mm lens(just bought s D70 and 50mm 1.8 though). I always try to let the bands/organizers know beforehand however and when possible thank/apologize to the people standing directly around me, most people are surprisingly un-annoyed though, haha

Geez, I was there! I totally forgot about that! I forgot you were there too but then you probably forgot I was there as well since we didn't know each other than.

Chicago is beautiful, green and warm now. Hope you get to come again!

Lol I'm pretty sure this sign has to do with this story he told us at his concert at the Allen Theater on April 2nd. He said he was staying a hotel and thought he had slept pretty soundly during the night. Until in the morning, when he found a sign outside his door that said "You Woke Me Up!!!", with such frustrated indentations that the pencil marks were almost going through the paper lol. I think that's how he said it...

Anyhoo, just though I would contribute that :)

Great article, very helpful.
I have a Canon EOC 30D and my current lens is 67mm. The lowest I can go is f3.5, do you have any suggestions as to how I can I combat not being about to have a lower f/s?

Fantastic, what a blast from the past. You get four pictures taken none of which you were really quite ready for
